Bill Lookup

Allows users to find their bill or account balance by searching with a case number or personal information before making a payment.

Usage Notes

When to use: Use the Bill Lookup pattern when users need to find an existing account or balance before making a payment. Offer multiple lookup methods (case number, personal information) to accommodate users who may not have their case number readily available.
Accessibility considerations: The toggle between lookup methods uses hidden to remove inactive fields from the tab order. Date of birth uses a fieldset with legend for screen reader grouping. Search results are announced via a live region. Focus moves to the result area after a successful lookup.

Customization points: Lookup methods and fields can be adjusted to match your agency's account system. The result card fields (balance, due date, minimum payment) should reflect the data your backend returns. The "Make Payment" button should link to or trigger your payment flow.
